Today is Tobias’ (dog) birthday, here he is enjoying his present.
Only it isn’t his birthday at all. When I checked his file to find out how old he is discovered his birthday is six weeks away! Someone struck it lucky thanks to my false recurring calendar event – 2 presents this year.

Tomorrow is a public holiday in NZ, Waitangi Day. It is also Thursday so I have taken the Friday off too. Four day weekend! My PJ pants are on, even the dog is getting comfy with no collar on.
Fire up the Xbox and open that beer.
Thanks to Mr Pigalina’s tide clock, after a day of work and visiting, we knew 8.30pm was the perfect time for a walk on the beach. There was also sun! And no wind!
As I have mentioned before, the weather this year has been rubbish – if it hasn’t rained, it’s been blustery. We have had one good day in Dunedin since Christmas. So, upon finding a wind free spot at the Botanical Gardens I was so delighted I had to share my joy. So may I present the second photo of the day for January 14.
A friend came to visit today after being very aloof so far this year – the sun. The sun came out for a whole day and the neighborhood set to work in their gardens, went for walks on the beach, read books in the garden and felt good about life.
A roasting hot day – in the 30s! Two very happy dogs got to have a swim at the beach.
Tobias, in his excitement, decided to have his dinner in bed. (Sorry about the blur).
