Mummy Pigalina watched one episode of Come Dine with Me and decided to throw a dinner party. I watch and vow never to have one. She served up pomegranate Cosmopolitans, a starter of smoked salmon and caviar (posh), a main of roast lamb on a bed of mashed kumara and rounded it off with a delicious Eton mess. Very good work, but considering none of her guests have dining tables she may be waiting a while to dine out herself.
I was too busy eating to take photos.

For the Office Olympics bake-off I was on team Korea. This is my Kang Jung – sesame seed candy. Easy said the recipe. Only takes 15 minutes. Lies! This was my fourth attempt because my blummin’ syrup wouldn’t thicken. I ended up boiling my syrup for almost an hour and it still wasn’t thick enough. Then to add insult to injury it melted into a huge blob in the warm staffroom.

As part of our office Olympics each team has to serve up morning tea with food from or representing their country. Today was China, Chad and Australia. Delicious treats – surprisingly the Chadian food was the most delicious but alas, the flashy nature of the other two teams stole points. (3 photos today).

Mr Pigalina had been requesting silverside for a while as his mum and G-ma always serve it. Today was my first attempt at cooking it. It appeared to be pickled and then I had to boil it. It looks awful and we have been referring to it as “the boiled head”. Which ties in nicely with the movie I watched today – Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
